The BA Philosophy and English Literature degree offers a dynamic exploration of the profound interplay between literature and philosophy, inviting students to unravel the complexities of human thought and imagination. Moving into the second year, the focus shifts to period-based literature, tracing the evolution of literary history from the Renaissance to the modern era. An optional work experience module, Literature at Work, provides students with practical insights, from classroom assistance to placements in literary heritage institutions. The final year allows for personalized specialization, with literature options spanning children’s literature, young adult fiction, Renaissance tragedy, 21st-century American literature, and more.
