Our Master's program aims to enhance your understanding of the various applications of photography. It will deepen your comprehension of contemporary art practices and requirements, allowing you to maximize both your artistic and professional potential. The curriculum encourages exploration of the significance of the photographic medium in cultural, political, and social contexts. It also fosters the development of an individual vision while engaging with current trends in art and design. The program emphasizes the ability to articulate your work with advanced fluency in both written and spoken forms, framing your practice within historical and critical contexts. Upon completing the Master's in Photography, you will possess the skills to think conceptually and execute your ideas in artistic and practical projects using cutting-edge technology. Our campuses are equipped with professional workspaces and an extensive array of equipment, including spacious photo and green screen studios, an analogue darkroom, a scanning and print studio, film editing suites, and sound studios. Students also have the opportunity to borrow various photographic equipment free of charge for both on and off-campus projects, such as digital and analogue cameras, professional lighting, and other accessories.

The Photography master’s programme is a project-based degree programme and perfect for students who have completed undergraduate studies at university level in an artistic, design area or photography.
At the UE, you’ll have the unique opportunity to contribute your own personal design skills and background and make something meaningful out of them.
The first two semesters consist of interdisciplinary project-based studies, like History & Theory of Photography or Concept, Identity & Culture. The entire 3rd semester is dedicated to your master’s thesis. This module includes the completion of your thesis, which consists of a design-in-practice part and an academic part.
